The number of American children being diagnosed with psychiatric illnesses has soared over the past decade and a half. The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) estimates the today, one in ten children and adolescents in the United Stated suffers from mental illness severe enough to result in significant functional impairment.
6.4 million children are being prescribed Methylphenidate (aka Ritalin) for symptoms of ADHD.
1 in 4 adolescents are anxiety ridden or depresssed.
35 years ago 1 in 25,000 children were diagnosed with Autism - Today it is 1 in 44!
Suicide is the leading cause of death in adolescents and the second leading cause of death among college students.

What is a universal problem and overlooked by many professionals as the cause of mental illness - is the lack of nutrition in our over-farmed and chemically damaged food that the population is eating. A large majority of the food today - sprayed, processed, irradiated, harvested early, ripened artificially, and coated with toxic material to improve appearance - is nutritionally void and has a direct impact on brain and mental health.
Toxic additives and overprocessed/GMO foods are poisoning our systems. IN the US, over 6,000 additives and chemicals are used by food companies to process and produce our food ( in Europe 80% of these additives are banned). More than 80% of all processed food contain Genetically Modified ingredients. Big chemical companies like Monsanto and Dow Chemical have spent 25 million to combat and win Proposition 37 which called for the labeling of modified foods. There are at least 60 countries that have significant restrictions on GMO’s - yet the US does not.

America is one the wealthiest but unhealthiest nations in the world. According to Bloomberg 2019 report on "Healthy Nations" - the United states ranked 34th,
The national adult obesity rate has increased by 26 percent since 2008 and stands at 42.4 percent. The U.S. is one of the most depressed countries in the world, according to the World Health Organization. Industrialization and capitalism have come with a huge cost.... our mental (and physical) health.
The Nutrient Problem - Mineral depleted Soil
According to the USDA the nutritional value of harvested food is becoming a major issue. Due to the mineral depletion of our soils and the loss of organic content, the nutrient density of harvested foods has declined in the US over the past 100 years. Reports from the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio that North America’s soil is depleted by over 85%. It is no coincidence that our mental health issues are rising as our nutrient levels are dropping!
The Environmental Problem Toxins around us
Toxins are all around us threatening our physical and mental well being. Pollutants in the air and water, chemical preservatives, dyes and additives in our food and the over dependence of pharmaceutical drugs all add to the burden of toxins in our body that are overloading our immune capacity. The rate of physical cancers and mental disorders are growing at an exponential rate.-
